Summer Family Portraits at Ness Botanic Gardens

Back in August I had the honour of photographing this beautiful family! I use the word beautiful a lot. I like it. But honestly, these guys are just that, inside and out. They also happen to have two wonderful daughters who are absolutely full of life!

Watching their eldest run carefree and confident, excitedly burning off all that excess energy that three year olds seem to carry around with them, was a joy! Capturing it all on film was too. I knew that once frozen in a photograph, these were the moments which would always bring a smile to their parents’ faces, long after the memories had faded. And isn’t that what it’s all about?

We met at Ness Botanic Gardens, because there is simply so much for children to explore! As a photographer it’s perfect too because there is plenty of variety. Whatever the light conditions are on a given day, there’ll be a location within the garden which is perfect for portraits. Each season also brings a variety of colour and texture in the garden which makes for diverse and interesting backdrops. It’s a wonderful location for family portraits and at the end of it all, there’ll be a big slice of cake waiting for you in the café should you choose to indulge!

To me this collection of family portraits is just bursting with summer vibes. There are so many sweet moments of these two innocent little girls who are full of life as they explore the natural world with the two people who matter most to them in the world… Mummy & Daddy!
