Family Photography on Thurstaston Beach
For Mother’s Day this year I ran a competition on social media offering Mums the chance to win a family portrait session. This lovely lady entered and these photographs are the result of the beautiful seaside shoot we did together at Thurstaston beach on the Wirral back in April.
I had so much fun photographing this family! We were incredibly lucky with the weather given the time of year as these sun-drenched photographs testify.
There is just something about the seaside that it just brings out the best in families!
I captured Mum, Dad and their sweet twin girls on a mix of medium format and 35mm colour film, resulting in a collection of bright and beautiful fine art portraits blended with some fun and playful wide documentary shots.
These girls are entering the final phase of primary school. They’re not babies or toddlers taking their first steps, but this stage in their childhood is just as important.
We often have professional photographs taken when we welcome our children into the world at their tiniest and then if we’re not careful the next professional picture might be at their graduation!
Capturing meaningful moments of this chapter in the girls’ story - with Mum & Dad still very much at the heart of things - reminded me how important it is for us to bank beautiful memories at every stage of our family life.
If this series of photographs has inspired you to book your own family photography session this summer then get in touch and we’ll get you booked in!
